Introducing My New Book, Recalculating

On May 12, 2020, I had a call with my literary agent, Michelle Wolfson.

“I feel like you need to write a book to help people manage their careers right now,” she said.

When Michelle said those first words, an idea instantly popped into my head of that moment when you go the wrong way in your car and the GPS says, “Recalculating…”

It struck me that the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated recession were forcing everyone to recalculate – recent grads, job seekers, entrepreneurs and even people secure in their careers.

All I wanted to do was help.

Three and a half months later, I handed in a 66,000 word manuscript to my editor at HarperCollins. I don’t say this to brag, but because I barely believe it happened! I have never worked so fast and so single mindedly on anything in my career, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

And so, today I am so excited to announce that Recalculating: Navigate Your Career Through the Changing World of Work is now available for pre-order! The book will publish in March 2021, and I will be sharing tons of career and job search advice on social media and in this newsletter between now and then.

Of course I couldn’t have finished the book without a ton of support from friends, family, colleagues and my community (and…um… peanut M&Ms). Thank you so much to each and every one of you.

Strong pre-orders will help spread word about the book to the many of people in need of a job, so I humbly ask you to pre-order now and help spread the word to anyone you know who is recalculating now or in the future.

And, if you are currently in the process of recalculating, please reach out anytime I can be a resource for you.

Thank you again and I look forward to your feedback on the book!

With gratitude,
Lindsey
